4 alumni named to Board of Trustees

Four alumni are serving new three-year terms on the Providence College Board of Trustees: Karl W. Anderson ’88, Susan M. Esper ’92, Mark A. Flaherty ’81, and Very Rev. M. Edward Gorman, O.P. ’86.

Anderson is senior managing director and operating committee member for Columbus Circle Investors in Stamford, Conn. He previously was a member of the College’s National Board of Overseers and remains co-chair of the Athletics Committee of the “Our Moment” comprehensive campaign. He lives in Riverside, Conn., with his wife, Kerry Fowley Anderson ’88, and their two children.

Esper, who has 22 years of experience in public accounting, is a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP in Boston. She is a member of the Business Advisory Council for the PC School of Business and is a member of the Liberal Arts Honors Program Leadership Council. She lives in Hopkinton, Mass., with her husband, Jeffrey, and two daughters.

Flaherty retired as partner and vice chairman of Wellington Management, LLC, a global institution asset manager, after 32 years in the investment business. He also was director of global investment services for the company. He lives in Boston, Mass., with his wife, Maura, and their two children.

Father Gorman is prior and pastor at St. Louis Bertrand Priory in Louisville, Ky., and a U.S. Navy Reserve chaplain who has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bahrain. He previously was a PC trustee from 2005-2010. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1992 and has served at parishes and schools in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Ohio, along with Kenya and Tanzania.
