Eleanor A. Cavanaugh, who served the College in the treasurer’s office for more than 50 years, died on November 19 in Warwick, R.I. A Providence resident, she worked at PC from 1945 to 1996, retiring as associate treasurer. Her dedication to the College was legendary. Miss Cavanaugh was honored with the Mal Brown Award by the Mal Brown Club, the Greater Providence Chapter of the National Alumni Association; the Laudare medal by the Dominican Community at PC; and the Benemerenti medal by the master of the Order of Preachers. She is survived by two nieces and a great nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on November 23 in St. Pius V Church, adjacent to campus.
