IN MEMORIAM: Robert A. “Bob” Booth

Robert A. “Bob” Booth, retired associate director of publications at Providence College, died on September 7, 2013. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, R.I., Mr. Booth served PC for 22 years until 2009 and was highly regarded for his graphic design expertise, worldly knowledge, and warmth.

A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he started his own electronic publishing company after leaving PC. He was an avid fan of fantasy and horror, books, and writing, and was the founder of NECON, the Northeast Writers’ Conference.

He is survived by his wife, Mary T. (Sullivan) Booth; his son, Daniel W. Booth ’97; his daughter, Sara A. (Booth) Calia ’03SCE; three grandchildren; an uncle; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; his mentee, Matt Bechtel ’99; and his NECON family. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Teresa Church, Pawtucket, on September 14.
