The Providence College School of Business (PCSB) shot up 34 spots to No. 75 on Bloomberg Businessweek’s list of the top 100 undergraduate business programs published in April. It represented the sharpest increase of any school and was attributed to an improved employer survey score, the magazine said.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment, given that we only became a separate school in 2007,” said Dr. Sylvia Maxfield, dean of the PCSB.

Businessweek ranked the 132 undergraduate business schools on several factors: a survey of graduating seniors; academic quality, measured by criteria such as average SAT score of incoming freshmen and percent of students in business internships; and a survey of recruiters at 301 business employers.

“PCSB students have a great reputation with employers,” said Maxfield. “One of our three main strategic goals is employer engagement, and this is wonderful progress toward our metrics in that area.”
