Episode 7 – Brianna Abbott ’17

Brianna Abbott ’17 (Wrentham, Mass.), a chemistry and creative writing double major, talks about her summer research as a Walsh Student Fellow, majoring in two vastly different fields of study, and how her experience with FaithWorks laid the foundation for her time at Providence College.

Abbott, a member of the Liberal Arts Honors Program who earned honors for being highest in concentration for English/Creative Writing and Chemistry (B.A.), was also awarded the Paul van K. Thomson Award for excellence in English literature by the College. In addition, she received the American Institute of Chemists Award.

At PC, Abbott was opinion editor of The Cowl, an admissions ambassador, and was on the varsity track and field team for two years. She was also a member of the Friar Divers and the Dance Club.

After graduation, Abbott will begin a master’s program in journalism at New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program.
