Father Langlois is new president of Dominican House of Studies

Very Rev. John A. Langlois, O.P. ’85 was installed in September as president of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., the seminary for the Dominican Province of St. Joseph, the Order that founded and staffs Providence College.

Father Langlois is a member of the PC Board of Trustees and a former assistant professor of theology at the College. He received a licentiate in sacred theology from the Dominican House of Studies in 1992 and a doctorate in sacred theology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, in 2000.

In June 2002, he was appointed master of students and assistant professor of church history at the Dominican House of Studies. From 2010-2013, he was vicar provincial of the Province of St. Joseph and prior of St. Vincent Ferrer Priory in New York City.

Father Langlois replaces Rev. Steven Boguslawski, O.P. ’78, who was president for six years.
