Lacasse ’12 helps Canadian team to gold

Former Friar goalie Genevieve Lacasse ’12 helped the Canadian women’s team win gold at the Four Nations ice hockey tournament in November. Lacasse, who will be one of three goaltenders on the Canadian team in the Sochi Olympics, made 21 saves in Canada’s 4-2 win over the U.S. Lacasse and her teammates also defeated Sweden and Finland to finish the tournament 3-0. A Canadian National Program member since 2009, Lacasse rewrote the Friar goaltending record book during her career, setting new marks including most career wins (64), games played (127), and shutouts (20).
