New on Campus: Schneider Arena

An extensive renovation and the construction of a 30,000-square-foot addition transformed 40-year-old Schneider Arena into one of the finest on-campus hockey facilities in the nation. The project was completed in less than eight months and just in time for the 2013-14 men’s and women’s ice hockey seasons. The work includes a new atrium, ticket office, concession stands, coaches’ offices, shooting room, hockey locker rooms and meeting rooms, lacrosse office and locker room facilities, athletic training room, press box, five luxury suites, dasher boards, glass, video board, video ribbon boards, and scoreboards. There’s also a renovated Friends of Friar Hockey room and a new strength and conditioning facility. The arena is named for the late Rev. Herman D. Schneider, O.P., founder of the men’s hockey program and a longtime faculty member.
