The Wedding People, the latest book by writing professor Alison Espach ’07, is a top novel of the summer.

Described as “a propulsive and uncommonly wise novel,” the book is generating literary buzz for Espach, associate professor of English at Providence College. From a Today Show #ReadwithJenna nod to “Best Book of the Summer” accolades from People magazine, Goodreads, and others, Espach’s latest is lauded as a go-to beach read. She received a $6,500 grant from the college’s Committee to Aid Faculty Research to support this novel. Her previous works include Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance, an Indie Next Pick and Amazon Editors’ Pick for 2022, and The Adults, a New York Times Editor’s Choice and Barnes and Noble Discover pick.
