Who doesn’t love a pair of handcrafted, leather shoes under the tree? Ted McNamara ’86 started this successful business, which contracts with small, family-owned companies in Italy to design and manufacture luxury shoes and sell them to customers directly.

10. Saving Christmas

13. The Hillbilly Thomists
The student brothers of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph have released an album of Americana music, The Hillbilly Thomists. With folk classics such as “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” “What Wondrous Love,” and a new take on “Amazing Grace,” the Hillbilly Thomists of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., go back to classic American spirituals to bring listeners closer to God.
