In memoriam: Dr. Salvatore G. Scotti

Dr. Salvatore G. Scotti, a retired professor of languages who taught Italian at Providence College for 27 years, died Feb. 3 at his Cranston, R.I., home. Dr. Scotti, who studied pharmacy in Italy, moved to Rhode Island in 1947 and began teaching at the College in 1948. Pope Paul VI gave him the honor of papal knight in 1967. He founded the Scot-Tussin Pharmacal Co. with his late wife, Linda, and was named retired pharmacist emeritus by the Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy in 1993. He is survived by his children, Katherine, Michelle, and Louis, and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Rocco Church, Johnston, on Feb. 8.
