In Memoriam: Maureen Quinlan ’90G; former presidential assistant, associate dean
Maureen (Forde) Quinlan ’90G, retired associate dean of student conduct, who served PC for nearly 30 years, died on Jan. 9, 2020.
Mrs. Quinlan began working at PC in 1985, serving as executive assistant to College President Rev. John F. Cunningham, O.P. ’50 until he left office in 1994. She then moved into the role of associate dean of student conduct in the Office of Judicial Affairs, where she served until her retirement in 2013.
While working under Father Cunningham, she completed a master’s degree in secondary administration at PC.
Born in Brighton, Mass., Mrs. Quinlan graduated from Boston College. She was an elementary school teacher before coming to PC. Among her trademarks were her stout Catholic faith, care for others, and warmth.
Among her survivors are her husband, Dr. Paul D. Quinlan, professor emeritus of history at PC; daughters Annemarie Ring ’95 & ’05G and Natasha Buckley, and their husbands; and six grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Jan. 14 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Warwick, R.I.
