School of Business achieves AACSB reaccreditation

AACSB International, the world’s largest and most prestigious organization fostering excellence in business education, has approved reaccreditation of the Providence College School of Business.

Only 5% of the world’s business schools hold the distinction of AACSB accreditation.

The reaccreditation, announced on January 25, came following a rigorous process that involved extensive reporting, a comprehensive peer review, and a site visit by leaders in the academic business community. AACSB analyzed the business school’s mission, curriculum, and faculty teaching and scholarship, while also assessing its overall trajectory.

The PC School of Business, which was established in 2007, earned initial accreditation in 2012 and its first reaccreditation in 2018. Its next reaccreditation review will be in 2028.

“AACSB has exacting standards, which we work every day to meet,” said Sylvia Maxfield, Ph.D., the school’s dean. “Reaccreditation affirms our place among the best business programs anywhere and provides assurance to current and future students, alumni, employers, and others that PCSB’s faculty and staff are committed to providing the excellent teaching, scholarship, and experiential opportunities that define the PCSB student experience.”

The business school offers bachelor’s degrees in accountancy, finance, management, and marketing, and master’s degrees in business administration and business analytics.
