University administrator Heath ’65 earns organization’s top honor 

Dr. Raymond P. Heath ’65Dr. Raymond P. Heath ’65 received the 2014 Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Dean from NASPA — Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. It is the organization’s highest award.

Heath is vice president of student affairs at Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. 

After graduating from PC with a bachelor’s degree in English, Heath earned a doctorate from The Ohio State University and studied at the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. He had served as dean of freshmen at Ohio Wesleyan University and as dean of students and later, vice president for student affairs, at La Salle University in Philadelphia.

Heath’s colleagues in NASPA, where he has served as a regional vice president and a long-time member of The NASPA Journal editorial board, describe him as a skilled educator, administrator, and mentor. 

He also had participated in task forces and on accreditation teams for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. In 2008, he was honored as a “Pillar of the Profession” by the NASPA Foundation. He also received a regional award for outstanding service to NASPA.
