Dominican Friars at Providence College

Dominican Friars at Providence College

They’re more than a mascot. They’re our neighbors, professors, chaplains, mentors, and friends. Diverse in interests and specialties, they’re theologians, economists, mathematicians, biologists, and more, engaged in everything from entrepreneurship to culinary arts to sabermetrics. They’re the Dominican community at Providence College — dozens of friars and sisters committed to prayer, study, and preaching the gospel.

August 8 is the Feast of St. Dominic, who founded the Dominican Order in the 13th century, and in 1917, Dominicans founded Providence College. Check out these stories about, interviews with, and reflections from Dominican friars at Providence College.
