Introducing ‘Purpose,’ the new Providence College anthem video
Editor’s note: The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has recognized PC’s MarCom team with two creative achievement awards in its 2024 Circle of Excellence national competition. Noting that it “shows the college’s brand identity and messaging strategy with pride and excellence,” CASE gave a bronze award for the college’s 60-second version of the Purpose television spot that airs during broadcast basketball and hockey games.
“Purpose,” Providence College’s new anthem video, exemplifies the PC community of students, faculty, athletes, and Dominican friars as those who seek knowledge, meaning, purpose, and truth — those who seek more.
The video features Colby Brown ’24, a management major in the Honors Program; men’s basketball coach Kim English and players Jayden Pierre ’26 and Bryce Hopkins ’25; Nancy Meedzan, DNP, professor of nursing and department chair, and nursing majors Annette Muchiri ’27, Camila Soto ’27, Shawn Staak ’27, and Kevin Sullivan ’27; Mariela Flores ’23, a creative writing graduate; women’s basketball coach Erin Batth and players Grace Efosa ’24 and Olivia Olsen ’25; Rev. Jordan Zajac, O.P. ’04, assistant professor of English; men’s hockey players Jaime Englebert ’23 and Guillaume Richard ’25; Dance Company members Katherine Kudla ’24, Katie Cota ’26, and Kiley Vallee ’26; and Jennifer Illuzzi, Ph.D., associate professor of history and director of the Development of Western Civilization Program.
The commercial will debut at the men’s basketball home opener on November 6 at Amica Mutual Pavilion. After that, Friar fans across the country will see a 30-second version of the commercial during televised men’s basketball and hockey games throughout 2023-2024 season.
